Which file do we need from you?

We prefer your logo as a PDF, SVG, or EPS. If you don't have such a file, a PNG or JPG will also work – it just needs to be as large as possible. An image downloaded from your own website usually isn't sufficient.

Why the file type matters so much

There are two types of image files. One consists of individual pixels, like a photo. If you enlarge such an image, the pixels get bigger and eventually become visible – the edges get blurry and jagged. This includes PNG and JPG.

The other type doesn't consist of pixels but of instructions: a line from here to there, this circle in this color. You can scale such a file to poster size and it stays razor-sharp. These are PDF, SVG, and EPS. If your designer ever sent you something, such a file is probably somewhere in your emails.

Your logo will be printed much larger on a pizza box than it appears on your website. That's exactly why we ask.

If you only have a pixel image

No problem, that's the usual case. The only important thing is that the image is large enough. The technical term is dpi, which describes how many pixels fit into one inch. For packaging, we need at least 100 to 150 dpi – at the size it will be printed.

Practically, this means: if your logo should be ten centimeters wide on the box, the image file should be at least about 600 pixels wide. If you're unsure, just send us what you have. We'll check it in a minute.

The color mode

Screens mix colors from light, printers mix them from ink. That's why there are two color systems: RGB for screens, CMYK for printing. We need CMYK.

If you provide an RGB file, we can convert it – but some vibrant colors may lose a bit of brightness. This is especially noticeable with bright neon green or very rich red. If you have a specific brand color, please give us the color number. Then we can match it exactly.
